Guidelines for 3D Objects
Here you can find guidelines for uploading your objects
Polycount and Mesh Requirements:
Target a polygon count between 6,000 and 10,000 polygons.
Support both tris and quads; avoid N-gons.
Animation Guidelines:
Use Non-Linear Animation (NLA) tracks to manage multiple animations on a single model.
Modelling Techniques:
SUB-D Modelling: Best for simple, symmetrical forms.
Sculpting with Retopology: Ideal for complex, organic shapes; sculpt first, then retopologize.
UV Mapping and Texture Guidelines:
Ensure symmetrical UV layouts and use overlapping UVs for symmetrical parts.
Start with PNG textures at 4096x4096 pixels; export as JPEG with up to 75% compression.
Model Compatibility:
Avoid applying colour attributes during creation to ensure import compatibility.
Rigging Guidelines:
Use 3 to 5 or more bones, depending on animation complexity.
Exporting in Blender:
When exporting, ensure only objects in the main scene are selected.
Wing Creation Process:
Create the mesh based on wing contours, add thickness, and use lattice tools for curvature.
Finalizing the Model:
Create multiple UV maps and materials, then duplicate the model and consolidate UVs before baking textures.
Texture Creation and Refinement:
Use tools like Substance Painter and Photoshop for both transferred and hand-drawn textures.
